DOTA 2: The International 2 announced

Valve released the date for the next International: Last weekend of August, from the 31st to September 2nd, at Benaroya Hall, Seattle.
Chinese powerhouse DK and defending champions Na'Vi are already invited, proving that stable and serious teams are the preferred for the event. Prize pool will be, at least, the same as last year, one million dollars for the winners and six houndred thousand for the rest top teams.
P.S. Please note the (TM) after Dota.. interesting fact for those who know the scene

Blizzard states in it's press release that World of Warcraft still mantains it 10 million subcribers.
Also 2 million people played the Diablo 3 open beta.

DOTA 2: Joindota.com announces an open

For a game that's only in a beta stage, DOTA 2 has a really strong and active community, mostly old DOTA player we have to say. One of the favorite sites for following all related to the game has started an Open tournament. Here's the original announcement:
Taking turns with the jD Masters, every second Friday and Saturday over the next weeks we will host a joinDOTA OPEN tournament with up to 512 teamslots to grant anyone a chance to compete professionally.
The jD OPEN will be run via pool system, making it more flexible and giving you and your team a next opponent quicker on your path to 500 EUR winner-takes-all!
Similar to the jD Masters, the OPEN will be run for EU/USA and SEA/CN regions to guarantee a great gaming experience and better pings, so be sure to sign up for the correct region with your team below.

SW:TOR Patch 1.2 goes live

Today Bioware has applied the 1.2 patch for TOR, here's a list of highlighted features:
Players can now unlock a wide variety of rewards by leveling characters and reaching new Legacy levels, including buffs for your characters, unlocking additional Species choices for every class, and upgrades for your personal Starship. Build your own Legacy with the new Family Tree!
Lost Island, a new Flashpoint, is available for play! Having uncovered the sources of the Rakghoul plague outbreak in the Tion Hegemony, players must travel to Ord Mantell and confront Dr. Lorrick, the mad scientist who engineered this horrific biological weapon.
Explosive Conflict, a new Operation, is available for play! The Trandoshan mercenary warlord Kephess has seized the planet Denova, a world rich in resources valuable to the war effort. Players must assault his war camp, situated atop a mountain in densely-wooded terrain, fighting Imperial defectors and heavy war machines along the way. 8- and 16-player Story and Hard Modes are currently available for this Operation.
Novare Coast, a new objective-oriented Warzone on the planet Denova, has been added to the game. This Warzone, like Huttball, supports same-faction matches if there are not enough members of the opposing faction to be found.
New repeatable high-level daily missions are available in a new area on Corellia, the Black Hole!
Guilds now have access to a shared Guild Bank, accessible on the Fleets, with expandable storage.
A new tier of gear has been added for both PvP and PvE.
Players can now customize their User Interface by moving and resizing UI elements!
A new level 50 World Boss with a challenge for a well-coordinated 16-player Operation Group has been sighted in the Gormak Lands region on Voss.

EPICNESS is not a word, is a DOTA 2 match: Evil Geniuses vs Mousesports

Last night more than 20.000 people gathered in the last part of a match between Evil Geniuses and Mousesports. In the beginning it was a standart game, about 9.000 viewers, but minutes passed and things started to go wild, big team fights, buys and rebuys, big items over big items, even the double-edged Divine Rapier came into play at the end.
Thousands of other players joined the stream to watch an amazing last stand of a Doombringer against a nearly dead last barrack and some brilliant behind the lines action all put together in a 80+ game worth every single minute of it.

SW:TOR Irae AoD claims a polemic World First in TOR

German guild Irae AoD claimed the First World First of TOR, completing Eternity Vault in nightmare mode. But there's some people arguing that the kill is not legit. As Bioware does not provide information or answer anything relating this, only the next weeks will tell if this is the first world first in the game.

As this guild is not signed for the First World First Contest, this prize will not be awarded. (Unless this kill is definitively proved as non legit and an inscripted guild claims it).

SW:TOR New Patch 1.1

Star Wars The Old Republic announced a new patch that fixes some bugs and introduces new content.
A new flashpoint, "Kaon Under Siege", four additional new bosses for the operation: Karagga's Palace. It also fixes the problem that prevented some Jedi Knight progress in affection talks with Kira Carsen and makes accessible some datacrons previously inaccessible.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - Game Update 1.1

Anti aliasing is now available and can be enabled in the preferences menu.

Fixed an issue that caused players to be unable to progress in Kira affection conversations. Players previously affected by this issue can now speak to Kira and progress normally.

A new level 50 Flashpoint, Kaon Under Siege, is now available for play in Normal and Hard Modes!

SW:TOR $1000 First World First Contest update

As Bioware does not provide with a database or armory-like app, and when we contacted them, they weren't able to ensure us a way to confirm in game the legitimacy of the first kill, the following updates will be added to the contest:
- You need to inscribe BEFORE the kill.
- Make a video with the display target's health of the kill.
- Inscription ends on 25th of December 2011.

"Early Game Access" is the period of time before the official game launch when pre-order customers may access the game. Early Game Access may begin as early as December 13, 2011, 7:00AM EST (Pacific: December 13th, 4:00AM PST; European: December 13th, 12:00PM GMT, 1:00PM CET).
